Description

Ocracoke Lighthouse

Built in 1823, the Ocracoke Lighthouse is the oldest active lighthouse in North Carolina. Located in a fishing village on Ocracoke Island. 75 feet tall.

In 1868, the tower was cemented and covered with it's first coat of brilliant whitewash.
